Thus, the COVID-19 pandemic is not stopping the South Florida House from moving towards their mission. The South Florida House is hosting a limited amount of families and prioritizing their overall wellness. Staff members see that it is hard enough for families to navigate their child's care, let along amongst a global pandemic.     From Nov. 1 - Nov. 21 ,  Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region will be holding their annual Autumn Auction. Obviously, for all of us, this has been an unprecedented year due to COVID-19 but this auction will use the money donated to continue helping families and children that are getting critical treatment. Since RMH was closed in mid-March in order to prevent the spread of the disease, they provided 140 families hotel rooms and meals for however long they needed it. The great work they do makes it easy for the public to support them in their mission by donating and participating in events like this auction.       Ronald McDonald House was conscious of the gathering restrictions and guidelines still in place due to the pandemic, that's why they made the decision to host this years auction virtually!  Red Shoe Day Fundraiser Extended Past Deadline The Red Shoe Day fundraiser is an annual fundraiser to raise money for the San Diego Ronald McDonald House.  The fundraiser usually consists of volunteers collecting money in red shoes.  However, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the charity evolved their fundraiser to adapt to the current circumstances. Therefore, the charity hosted a virtual Red Shoe fundraiser!  With the help of local businesses the Ronald McDonald House Charity was able to well exceed their initial goal.   Raising over $114,000, the charity extended the fundraiser date past the June 4 deadline.  The fundraiser ended on June 12.

Togetherness Given by Ronald McDonald House Charities Togetherness is essential when caring for a child in need. Families want to physically be there for their child when undergoing treatment and are in and out of the hospital.   Caroline, a four-year-old girl with a hole in her heart experiences togetherness due to the help of the Ronald McDonald House Charity.  With the support of the charity, Caroline never feels alone because her parents can stay close to her during her time of need.   The organization can’t do it alone; their life-changing programs depend on donations large and small which fund these initiatives directly.   Please donate to help Caroline and other families experience togetherness, because we’re all in this together. 

Ronald McDonald House Hosts Beyond Bourbon Fundraiser

      There is no secret that life has not gone back to normal since the beginning of the pandemic but that will not stop Ronald McDonald House of North Central Florida. This branch has recently hosted a virtual fundraiser, Beyond Bourbon Gainesville, to raise money for the children and families that are going through treatment at the UF Health Shands in Gainesville. The event took place on Sunday, Nov. 8 and had multiple ideas to raise money for the charity with events such as an auction, a live bourbon tasting, a cocktail competition, heart-warming family stories and finally live segments with Pappy Van Winkle, Embers and St. Augustine Distillery in order to interact and learn more about bourbon for a good cause.      Guests who attended the online event were gifted with a special Beyond Bourbon Gainesville box that included bourbon samples, recipes and other surprises.
